Los Angeles may be drenched in rain today, but it did not stop Angel City FC and its volunteers from handing off 1,100 Thanksgiving meals to All Peoples Community Center members and patrons.

Led by National Women's Soccer League Best XI and ACFC Golden Boot winner Savannah McCaskill, the group treated attendees to full service, restaurant style treatment and chef-prepared meals complete with Thanksgiving turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, corn and pumpkin pie for dessert.

As to why ACFC picked the center for the Thanksgiving event, ACFC Senior Director of Community Impact Chris Fajardo enthuses about its relationship: "All Peoples is one of our longest community partners and they are the heartbeat of South LA. Angel City has such a close connection to this organization and all the other groups that we support, and they are like an extension to our football club. "

The center, which has been around for more than 80 years is multi-ethnic, multi-racial and welcomes people from different walks of life. It provides social services for the youth, adults, and seniors varying from after school programs and tutoring, to women's support and domestic violence support groups, to tax preparation and immigration services.

Knowing that All Peoples Community Center gives so much to Angelenos, it became a no-brainer that ACFC, together with Doordash established its "Goals that Give" program for the center. The initiative promises to give 1,000 meals to every single goal that Angel City FC scores. The club tallied 41 goals last season and that meant 41,000 meals were handed out to the center's supplemental food program.
