Angel City FC entered the game against Houston Dash with one goal in mind: end the game with a win and three points to contend for one final playoff push. ACFC went aggressive on the attack right from kickoff and loaded multiple players up front. The move provided multiple chances for ACFC, but it took a toll in the 44th minute as a quick build up from Houston allowed striker Nichelle Prince to set up an open Andressa giving her ample time to collect and place a left footed strike to put the home side ahead 1-0.

Down one goal entering the 2nd half, ACFC coach Becki Tweed went tactician mode to find holes in Houston's defense and finally found the answer in the 68th minute via an Alyssa Thompson equalizer that leveled both sides 1-1. It was the 18-year old's first touch of the ball as she blitzes with speed to find space leaving Houston Dash's goalkeeper Jane Campbell no chance of saving her shot in a one-on-one attempt.

With the game open for both sides to win, ACFC stuck to their game plan of completing passes and runs, staying steady, and when that perfect moment came in the 91st minute of injury time, midfielder Savannah McCaskill wasted no chance as she scored the game's winning goal off a Katie Johnson assist.
