Having commenced the season with four consecutive home losses, the Clippers appear to have discovered the winning formula, remaining undefeated in their last four games at their $2 billion home court.
The Clippers started strong with a 20-1 run early in the first quarter and maintained their momentum, relentlessly attacking the Kings and restraining their stars, Domantas Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox, to the lowest point total in a half for any NBA team this season at 29.
With Kawhi Leonard absent since the start of the season, the Clippers were expected to struggle offensively, especially with Norman Powell out due to a left hamstring strain. However, James Harden spearheaded the Clippers' efforts, scoring 22 points, providing 9 assists, and grabbing 6 rebounds. The Clippers' bench made a significant impact, as every player who took the court contributed at least five points.
De'Aaron Fox tallied 29 points and Domantas Sabonis contributed 24 points in a defeat for the Kings. After the game, Kings coach Mike Brown acknowledged: “We were not a step slow. We were three or four steps slow to whatever was going on at both ends of the floor. There was very limited aggressiveness to us offensively and same defensively, and when you are on your heels in this league, teams will make you play, and the Clippers did.”
