Following a dreadful beginning to the season with 21 losses in their initial 27 games, the Clippers have completely turned things around, winning 14 of their last 17 games since then.
And there’s no looking back.
The Clippers' latest victory came against their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, defeating the glitzy Hollywood team 112-104. The Clippers led by as many as 26 points in the second half and remained composed under pressure when the Lakers mounted a fourth-quarter rally, narrowing the gap to four points.
After missing the last three games, Kawhi Leonard returned to the court with limited playing time as he was recovering from an illness. He recorded 24 points, five rebounds, and five assists. This game marked the 23rd consecutive time in his career that the Klaw scored at least 20 points.
Ivica Zubac of the Clippers dominated the boards with 19 rebounds, as the Lakers were out-rebounded 55-43, allowing 15 second-chance points. Zubac also contributed 18 points, while Harden scored 18 points and recorded 10 assists. In total, seven Clippers players scored in double figures.
Luka Doncic paced the Lakers with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists, though he shot 11 of 27 from the field, including 3 of 13 from three-point range. LeBron James contributed 23 points, along with 5 rebounds and 6 assists.
The win improved the Clippers' record to 20-24, placing them 10th in the Western Conference. They have a break until Sunday, when they will face the Brooklyn Nets (12-30) at home. The Lakers have gone 5-6 in their last 11 games and are currently in the 6th position in the Western Conference.
