NASHVILLE, TN -- Gibson has been shaping the sound of music since 1894, when founder Orville Gibson designed and built his earliest-known instrument in his workshop. Gibson instruments have inspired generation-defining musicians, catalyzed powerful moments in pop culture, and encouraged new players to pick up the guitar—often in legendary appearances on the silver screen.
From 20th Century Studios, “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Starring Jeremy Allen White as the Boss, the film is written for the screen and directed by Scott Cooper, based on the book “Deliver Me from Nowhere” by Warren Zanes. Recorded in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom on a 4-track recorder and a late-1950s Gibson SJ-200, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe. “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” is now playing in theaters.
Gibson’s acoustic luthiers collaborated closely with the production team, including award-winning producer Dave Cobb, who was tasked with recreating Bruce Springsteen’s music for the screen. For the original score, Cooper turned to Jeremiah Fraites, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from The Lumineers, whose New Jersey roots and deep connection to Springsteen’s work helped shape the film’s emotional core. A range of Gibson and Epiphone acoustics—many handcrafted at the Gibson acoustic craftory in Bozeman, Montana—were used throughout filming and recording to match the instruments, tones, and signal chains of the era.
Today, Gibson unveiled the Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere Collection, a specially curated selection of Gibson and Epiphone acoustic instruments featured in and inspired by the motion picture, available now on Gibson.com.
In celebration of the release, select guitars created for and used in the film are now on display at the Gibson Garage Nashville, the brand’s flagship store in the heart of downtown Nashville.
From 20th Century Studios, “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” is now playing only in theaters. View/share the trailers HERE and HERE.

The King of the Flat-tops
As seen in the 20th Century Studios film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
The Gibson SJ-200 is the world’s most famous acoustic guitar and earned its designation as the “King of the Flat-Tops.” Since its release in 1937, its wide use by American artists has made the Super Jumbo one of the most widely played acoustic guitars of our time. The most striking features of the new SJ-200 Original include the carved four-bar Moustache™ bridge, an engraved tortoise pickguard, mother-of-pearl crown fretboard and headstock inlays, and exquisite flamed maple back and sides. The SJ-200 is an American original with its shape and elegant appearance.

All the vibe, feel, and vintage allure of the rare rosewood Pre-War Super Jumbo
Originally introduced in 1937, the Gibson SJ-200 quickly earned its title as “the King of the Flat-Tops” thanks to its bold sound, impressive projection, and commanding presence.
Early models featured rosewood back and sides, but due to limited demand during the post-Depression era, production numbers remained low—making these early rosewood-bodied SJ-200s highly sought-after by collectors today. Gibson Custom now proudly presents the Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood Light Aged, a meticulous recreation of those rare originals. It features a thermally aged red spruce top with traditional scalloped X-bracing, rosewood back and sides with a three-rope marquetry strip, and ornate multi-ply binding throughout. The AAA maple neck includes a walnut stringer and stinger detail, while the ebony fretboard and bridge are adorned with mother-of-pearl inlays. Gold Grover® Imperial™ tuners and a tortoise pickguard with multi-colored dots complete the look. Finished with Murphy Lab’s Light Aging treatment and housed in a period-correct Red Line case, this model captures the spirit and craftsmanship of Gibson’s Golden Era—delivering vintage tone, feel, and aesthetic in a stunning modern build.
