As the recently acquired Laker Luka Doncic observed from the sidelines, the LA Lakers appeared revitalized, overpowering the Clippers with a 122-97 victory at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Luka's presence alone served as a source of motivation, with the team in purple and gold fully committed from start to finish. They were aggressive in their offense, amassing 73 points by halftime and leading the Clippers by as much as 31 points.
LeBron James was a masterpiece in action, setting the tempo that ignited a 10-0 run in the first quarter. The King concluded the game with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals, while both Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves contributed 20 points each.
Clipper stars Kawhi Leonard and James Harden struggled, shooting a combined 6-23 from the field and 1-7 from three-point range. Coach Ty Lue shared his disappointment post-game: "We’re just not getting off to good starts. We’re not locking in defensively. Allowing 45 points in the first quarter is simply too much. We need to take pride in our defense."
Norman Powell contributed 20 points for the Clippers (28-22), who have now lost their last two games in a row and trail the fifth-place Lakers (29-19) by two games in the West.
