Plum Powers Sparks Over Chicago Sky, Ending Three-Game Losing Streak

Following a week during which injuries benched important players, Kelsey Plum guided a determined LA Sparks team to break their three-game losing streak, defeating the Chicago Sky 91-78 on Sunday at Crypto Arena.


The LA team delivered a strong performance before an audience of 11,422 fans. Plum, a two-time WNBA champion, made six 3-pointers and scored 28 points, while Azura Stevens achieved a season-high with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.



Dearica Hamby was the Swiss Army knife for the Sparks, doing everything except selling popcorn in the stands. The three-time WNBA All-Star racked up 10 points, snagged six rebounds, dished out eight assists, and swiped a career-best six steals.

Angel Reese led Chicago with 13 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Kamilla Cardoso contributed 12 points, hitting 6 of her 9 shots. Courtney Vandersloot and Rebecca Allen each chipped in with 11 points.


The loss dropped Chicago to 0-3 for the season, putting them at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Meanwhile, the victory brought the Sparks to 2-3, and they will wrap up their three-game homestand against Atlanta on Tuesday.
