Although ACFC peppered Utah Royals goalkeeper Amanda McGlynn occupied with many shots, they were unable to score in the first half.
Then, at the 2nd half, USWNT legend Christen Press made her entrance.
In the 66th minute, forward Christen Press had an immediate effect by scoring shortly after substituting for Claire Emslie. She got the ball from midfielder Alanna Kennedy while advancing up the right wing, dribbled into the box, cut left to evade her defender, and curled a left-footed shot into the top corner, bringing the score to 1–0. The goal is Christen Press' 49th, placing her ninth on the NWSL's all-time scoring list.

Receiving a pass from Tiernan that pierced the defense, she surged into the penalty area and unleashed a powerful shot between two defenders. The ball hit the inside of the post and deflected into the net.
Angel City returns to the road next week to play against Bay FC on Saturday, May 17. The game will be broadcasted live on ION television at 7 PM PST.
