Undoubtedly the biggest possible match in mixed martial arts, Ronda Rousey expressed her admiration and competitive spirit towards her opponent, Gina Carano, during a pre-fight press conference held at the Intuit Dome, in Los Angeles, California.

Rousey and Carano were trailblazers during the early stages of women's MMA. In the 2000s, Carano emerged as the sport's first major television star, while Rousey's exceptional talent in the 2010s was the catalyst for the UFC to establish women's divisions.

"This isn't a charity card or nostalgia card, this is the biggest fight in the world. This is fate for us," said Rousey.

It's been a decade since Rousey competed in a UFC MMA fight, whereas the 43-year-old Carano last fought 17 years ago.
